Associate, Client Strategy

Overview

The Associate plays a key support role within the Client Strategy team. This individual reports directly to the Head of Client Strategy and works closely with senior team members across client strategy, investment strategy, research, operations, and risk. Their focus is on investor relations, fundraising, and consultant engagement. The role involves assisting in investor data maintenance, managing reporting processes, preparing and distributing materials, and supporting day-to-day client engagement.

The position is based in Stamford, Connecticut, and the Associate is expected to be in the office five days per week. It is ideal for someone early in their alternatives career who combines investment fluency, strong communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail.

Over time, this individual will assume greater responsibility, leading meetings with institutional allocators and contributing directly to the firm’s long-term success. Core Responsibilities

  • Support senior team members in all aspects of fundraising, consultant relations, and client service.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials such as presentations, DDQs, RFPs, and customized requests.
  • Maintain CRM databases, track pipelines, and produce internal analytics on prospective investors and consultants.
  • Coordinate monthly performance distributions and mass investor communications.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support fundraising strategy.
  • Participate in investor meetings and calls as note-taker and content contributor.
  • Collaborate with investment, risk, and operations teams to ensure consistency of messaging and data.

 

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in investor relations, capital formation, investment consulting, or a related analytical function (banking, asset management, or alternatives).
  • Strong understanding of institutional investors, investment vehicles, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent writing, PowerPoint, and Excel skills; familiarity with CRM tools such as Dynamo.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and intellectually curious.
